Mini Episode 4

Welcome to The Interning 101 Podcast’s fourth mini-episode! Why are we doing these? Because Interning 101 was initially a book. Entrepreneur, author, and manager Emily White wants to share all of her modern business knowledge with you, but wants to hear from the guests during the interview episodes. So here we dive deep into the tenets of Interning 101 the book, with Emily’s wealth of experience and insights into modern business best practices and beyond.

Today, Emily talks about how she got her management chops at Madison House in New York after college working with artists like The Dresden Dolls, The Fiery Furnaces, Taj Mahal, Angelique Kidjo, along with members of The String Cheese Incident and The Drive-By Truckers. She then talks about how her boss Mike Luba moved to Miami and how legendary producer Bob Ezrin read a business plan Emily wrote which punched her ticket to Live Nation Artists’ half a billion dollar new division in Miami where the first signees were Madonna, Jay-Z, and U2. And how that all collapsed before she knew it, yet how it led to Emily launching her first management company in 2008.
